FLORIDA KEYS CHAPTER CAPTAIN EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBER
Natalia grew up and currently lives in the Florida Keys; from hurricane devastation to sea level rise, she continues to see the effects of climate change in her hometown. She serves on the Monroe County Climate Change Advisory Committee, whose purpose is to make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners regarding appropriate mitigation and adaptation policies needed to address climate change.
Natalia is a graduate of and currently mentors for the Climate Reality Leadership Corps. She currently offers presentations on the climate crisis.
As the daughter of a Cuban refugee, she is extremely passionate about immigrant justice and immigration reform. Natalia is a founding member of Keys Immigrant Coalition (KIC). For many years, Natalia taught English as a Second Language to immigrants from all over the world and is working on a project to bring ESL into the Monroe County ICE detention center.
