WOMEN'S MARCH FLORIDA "MARCH-A-LAGO" T SHIRTS HERE: www.bonfire.com/womens-march-florida-show-us-your-t/
Rise Up!, Indivisible South Florida, Women's March Florida, and South Florida Activism invite you to join us this Tax Day in West Palm Beach to demand transparency from the president and all of our elected representatives. This non-violent demonstration of our 1st Amendment rights will begin in front of the unfortunately named Trump Plaza in West Palm Beach, and our route will lead us to Bingham Island, directly adjacent to the "Winter White House," Donald Trump's famed Mar-a-Lago Resort. We welcome you to bring signs, drums, noise makers, instruments, flags, banners, etc.
We will march once more to spread our voices to the masses and further progress for all.
On April 15, join us in demanding that the president show the American people his tax returns.
What is the Tax March?
The Tax March isn't an organization--it's a movement--gaining momentum around the country. Early in the 2016 presidential campaign, Donald Trump told the American people he would release his tax returns, as every other Presidential candidate running and every American President since President Nixon had done. Despite intense public pressure, President Donald Trump has not yet done so. In refusing to release these tax returns, he is able to obscure his business dealings, financial ties and conflicts of interest.
Within days of his inauguration, the White House petition calling on Trump to release his tax returns garnered the most signatures on a White House petition, ever. The Trump administration's response? "People don't care."
On April 15th, we are creating a Tax March Day of Action in DC and across the country. Regional marches taking place throughout the country are affiliated with the National Tax March but are autonomous and reflect the diverse, organic nature of this movement. Tens of thousands of Americans will send a clear message to Donald Trump: The President is accountable to the American people, and we’re going to hold him accountable--and yes, we care.
Why a Tax March?
This is not just about his tax returns. President Trump needs to be straight with the American people. To whom does he owe favors? Who are his policies really intended to benefit? Who will he put first? Working families are struggling to make to make ends meet, but we pay our fair share in taxes--does Donald Trump pay any at all? The American people deserve to know the answers to these questions.
Corruption is anathema to democracy. We deserve to know whether Donald Trump is allowing foreign officials and the superrich to buy the power of the Presidency. We demand that our President put the country and interests and rights of the American people first. We will not stand for our President using the country as a way to enrich himself, his family, his friends, and his donors. We will not let President Trump put his own bottom line ahead of the interests of hardworking Americans.
We, the American people, will march standing together with a common belief in the value of transparency in government, fairness in taxation, and the value of our Constitution. We will march together against any forces, corporate, political, or purely tyrannical, that oppose it.
Who is organizing it?
We are ordinary Americans, community organizers, advocates, and people from all walks of life and all backgrounds joining together to raise our voices and send a bold message to this administration: We will not go quietly into the night. We will not turn away. We care, and we will hold President Trump, his administration, and Congress accountable. That means demanding transparency, and demanding that as we pay our fair share in taxes, the wealthy--especially our president--do the same.
